Basilica di San Pietro is massive—it’s almost overwhelming with its huge dome, beautiful mosaics, and Michelangelo’s Pietà. We climbed up to the dome, which was a bit of a workout, but the view over St. Peter’s Square and all of Rome made it totally worth it. Every corner is packed with art and history, and it’s no wonder why this is one of the most important religious sites in the world. We spent hours inside and honestly, we could have stayed even longer—there was so much more to see.
