This is the oldest and most famous of San Marino’s three towers, and the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. We climbed up the narrow staircase to reach the top, and from there, we could see the entire country spread out beneath us, along with the surrounding Italian countryside. The tower itself has a rich history, having been used as a fortress and even a prison. It’s a bit of a climb, but well worth the effort for the views.
