The Duomo di Milano is one of the most breathtaking cathedrals we’ve ever seen (and we’re not just saying that because we’re Italian). The exterior is an incredible mix of Gothic spires, statues, and carvings, and you can easily spend a lot of time just admiring the façade. We took the elevator up to the rooftop, where you can walk among the spires and get amazing views of the city. The details up close are stunning, and the view from the top is one of the best in Milan. Make sure to spend plenty of time exploring both inside and out—there’s a lot to take in.
