Lara

Lara Compte (Barcelona, 1987) holds a master’s in Gastronomic Communication and Journalism from the Basque Culinary Center and a degree in Art History. She works at TheFork as an advisor to the Michelin Guide and teaches at the Hofmann Hospitality School. Her focus is on the transformative power of food, with a humanistic approach to gastronomy.

Narrow Barceloneta bar serving delicious beer with classic tapas. Loud, fast, with friendly staff. The solomillo with foie is a signature and their house-made beers are very tasty.

Fort Pienc favorite for well-priced tapas and slow-cooked Catalan dishes. Terrace seats, daily specials, friendly staff. Delicious food and wonderful service.

Sarrià pizza spot with a wood-fired oven. Classic antipasti and proper Neapolitan pizzas. Top-quality ingredients and a dough that is light with a thick, soft crust that melts in your mouth. The interior is themed around the streets of Naples with Maradona as its symbol.

Counter sushi by two skilled chefs with an authentic Japanese sushi menu. Tight omakase feel, pristine cuts, quiet room. Seats are limited.

Historic 1899 bar revived with great tapas and natural wine. Tortilla, bravas, and the truffle bikini get a lot of love. The service is good and they were attentive. Menu is frequently updated.

Ultramarinos Marín

Deli-restaurant with an open kitchen and a product-first menu. Cold cuts, preserves, simple grills. On the expensive side but so worth it.

Tapas bar with house cava and seafood dishes. Always packed, line moves fast, but the bar team is quick. The food is fresh and full of authentic Spanish flavors, and beautifully presented.

Neo traditional tapas bar with beautiful interior design and a locals feel. Short menu, solid classics and a small space with the vibes were on point.

Farm to pizza with tasty dough and local toppings. Open kitchen, friendly team and amazing pizza options. A must.

Món Vínic - Bar de Vinos y Quesos

Wine and cheese bar from the Monvínic team. Cheese boards, conservas and a deep natural-leaning wine selection. All the snacks are excellent and there’s a good selection of cheeses.

Casa Masala Restaurant

Indian kitchen in Eixample with a cozy room and kind service. Classics done cleanly with a few modern touches. Portions run moderate.

Suru Restaurant

Restaurant serving creative Asian fusion dishes with a very innovative menu and great portions. This place is a hidden gem.

Queviures Múrria

Historic colmado from 1898 turned deli bar. Cheese, charcuterie, conservas, and a solid wine list in an art nouveau space. The atmosphere is so unique. Really good tapas and excellent service.

Natural wine bar in Poble Sec with modern tapas and great wine selection. Creative snacks like their take on the gilda and a broad by the glass list.
