Warung Nyomam
A little gem and one of those places you’d probably walk past without noticing, but trust us, you need to stop in. It’s a tiny, family-run joint where the food is as authentic as it gets. We grabbed a seat at a small table, and when the satay hit the table, we knew we were in for a treat. Perfectly grilled, smoky, and packed with flavor. The nasi goreng had just the right amount of kick too. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why simple, local food is always a win.

This restaurant has a menu that changes often and with dishes that mix different flavors. The prawns are delicious if you want to taste some sea flavor. If not, their burger is also a classic. A little pricey but so good.

Bar Gui
🇫🇷 Do you want an unforgettable dinner experience? I have the perfect spot for you. This underground French restaurant crafts a menu that dances between tradition and innovation. You HAVE TO order the Pain de Mie bread. This buttery square piece of heaven is everything I want in my life. There are 2 areas you can dine at.☀️ Pro tip: They have the nicest sunny terrace for the summer season and it’s right next to the canal so the view is ideal for lunch, dinner or drinks by the water.

Mr Haz Taco Bar
🇲🇽 This Mexican restaurant is lively and welcoming, with 3D pop art graffiti on every wall. It’s like dining in an art gallery. 🌮 The menu is packed with homemade tacos, all made from scratch. You can choose from the diverse meat, seafood or vegetarian options. They have a wide enough yet competent menu that offers the good stuff from the Mexican cuisine intertwined with modern creativity. They serve some of the best tequila and mezcal based cocktails in Amsterdam like margaritas and palomas.

Pils Grill Eatery
You don’t have to be a beer fanatic to love Pils Grill, but it helps. The beer selection is extensive, with local and international brews, and the food holds its own. The grilled peppers are a must-try, the steak tartare with bone marrow is next level, and the schnitzel is a fan favorite. The vibe is cozy but lively, with friendly staff who actually know what they’re talking about. A bit on the pricey side for Lisbon, but worth it if you’re after quality.
