This location is so unique and beautiful. Visit the viking village, once a setup for a movie. You can see the giant whale bones nearby. The camping fee includes access to all of it, so you can wander as much as you like. Drive down to the beach for seals in the surf. Black sand, wind, and Vestrahorn right there, raw and incredible. 🦭
Solheimasandur Plane Wreck
These remains of a plane wreck make an interesting stop. You get ocean to one side and hills to the other. Pretty dramatic.

Jamestown Light House
The Jamestown Lighthouse stands in one of Accra’s oldest districts, offering a look into the city’s maritime history. You can climb the steps for a panoramic view of the coastline. Tours are sometimes available, offering background on the area. The surrounding neighborhood is authentic but can feel less developed, so visiting with a guide is a good idea. Comfortable shoes are a must if you plan to climb the lighthouse.

A beautiful waterfall surrounded by mountains. It takes some effort to get there, but the views alone make it so worth it.

Angel of Užupis
Standing tall in the heart of the Užupis district, the Angel of Užupis statue represents the area’s artistic spirit and independence. The vibe here is unlike anywhere else. It feels like a bohemian republic within the city. I loved walking around, discovering murals, sculptures, and quirky galleries. If you’re there on April 1st, you can experience Užupis Independence Day, a celebration like no other!
The Mermaid of Užupis
I wandered around the quirky Užupis district and stumbled upon the cute little Mermaid statue by the river. She’s small and easy to miss, but she adds so much charm to the area. There’s a legend that says she lures people to Užupis, and once you visit, you never want to leave. Honestly, I can see why. The whole area is filled with street art, galleries, and cozy cafés, making it a perfect spot to explore.

The Agafay Desert is a rocky landscape close to Marrakesh, perfect for camel rides and outdoor dinners. It’s a different but equally fascinating experience compared to the Sahara.

A riverside heritage site blending Chinese history with modern cafes and art.
Flame of Liberty Statue
This sculpture commemorates the French Year in Japan. It looks like a thin golden flame rising from the ground, a reference to the victories of Napoleon III. Made from aluminum and bronze, then covered in gold leaf.
DC-3 Airplane wreck - Eyvindarholt - Iceland
This spot is a cool place to check out if you’re in the area. The mountain views are beautiful, and it’s a great spot for photos.
