Place de la Contrescarpe
By @insidethevalise
A charming square located at the summit of the historic Rue Mouffetard. The square and fountain were established in 1852 during the Haussmann renovation of Paris, clearing a dense cluster of medieval houses to create a central gathering point for the Latin Quarter. There are many bistros and cafes with outdoor terraces to grab a drink or a meal at. If you saw the viral flash mob of Bohemian Rhapsody in Paris last year, it took place here, so you never know what might happen in this square!
Address: Pl. de la Contrescarpe, 75005 Paris, France
