Museo Franz Mayer

By @SergioCoronel

Widely regarded as Latin America's premier decorative arts museum. It houses the vast personal collection of German-born financier Franz Mayer, comprising over 10,000 pieces of fine and decorative art, collected over 50 years. The collection focuses on Mexican, European, and Asian decorative arts from the 16th to the 19th centuries, including furniture, textiles, ceramics (especially Talavera pottery), silverwork, and clocks. The museum is housed in a beautifully preserved 16th-century building that was once a hospital and convent.

Address: Av. Hidalgo 45, Centro Histórico de la Cdad. de México, Guerrero, Cuauhtémoc, 06300 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico
