It is located on the sprawling campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) within the Ciudad Universitaria (CU) campus, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Opened in 2008, the museum was designed by Mexican architect Teodoro González de León and houses UNAM’s collection of contemporary art, focusing on works produced from 1952 to the present, primarily from Mexico and Latin America.
