"Death in Paradise" Filming Locations

Death in Paradise: Season 7, Episode 3 "Written in Murder" (part of a composite scene).

"Bay Cove" / "Paradise Bay Hotel" Featured in: S1E2, S4E4, S6E1, S8E3 (and many more) Fun fact: This isn't just a set; it's the production's base camp! Most of the TV crew and several actors live in this exact hotel for six months of the year during filming. Guests can even rent the iconic pointy-roofed bungalows seen on the show.

Featured in: Season 1, Episode 4 ("Missing a Body") Located in south of Deshaies, this hotel and its picturesque sea-view terraces have been utilized by the production crew for suspect interviews and resort-based scenes throughout the series.

Featured in: S8E2 ("Murder Most Animal") The scene of a bizarre murder where a zookeeper is killed by a tranquilizer dart in the middle of the jungle. Fun fact: The real zoo is famous for its suspended wooden rope bridges that take you 20 meters high into the rainforest. The camera crew strategically used these bridges to get incredible aerial shots.

"Saint Barnabas Island", featured in: S12E4 This was a massive milestone for the production crew! It marked one of the first times an entire episode's primary location was moved completely off the Basse-Terre coast and filmed in the flatter, sugarcane-heavy region of Grande-Terre to make it look like a completely different island.

Featured in multiple episodes (Season 8, episode 1; Season 10, episode 8...) Situated on a steep hillside with stunning views of the bay, this authentic, seaside cemetery. Here the graves are traditionally adorned with shells. The cemetery is repeatedly used for the show's funeral scenes and suspect interrogations.

The quaint fishing port used when the team needs to take a boat out to remote, isolated islands for an investigation.

A special feature in the third season of the series. The name of the Hotel will not be changed in the 4th episode. Here, DI Humphrey investigates on the crew of Air France who wanted to be accommodated at the Creole Beach Hotel.

The official beach for the guests of Langlay Resort. Even if you just want to visit it's possible to access and even rent the sunbeds for the day!

"Saint Marie Airport" Featured in: S1E1, S3E1, S6E5 (Whenever a new DI arrives) The airport building in the very first episode is actually a primary school located in front of the Deshaies Cemetery. Fun fact: It was also used as a convent in Series 2 in the episode where a nun is found dead in her cell.

Here is where I stayed during the second part of my trip. It's a nice complex of apartments with an incredible seaview pool and terraces. It was also featured in Death in Paradise Season 7, Episode 2 ("The Stakes Are High").
