This mural is the mark left by Miss Van, one of the most iconic and relevant figures in Barcelona’s street art scene, invited in 2016 by Openwalls as part of the FemRimes FemGraff project organized by Bocanord. The initiative combined micropoetry and mural art to foster literary and artistic creativity around womanhood and gender equality. Twelve selected poems were interpreted by twelve contemporary artists. Miss Van’s work originates from the poem “De la mujer que no ha perdido su instinto.”

A shutter painted in exchange for a space to create. In Barcelona, there are three formats for painting a storefront shutter: 1.Illegal. 2.Free style with permission. With the owner’s consent, the space is exchanged for the artist’s freedom to create whatever artwork they wish. 3.Commission. The owner requests a specific piece linked to their commercial activity and pays the artist for it.

This gallery features more than 35 local and international artists, all of whom live in Barcelona, and most of whom work in urban art. The gallery was created out of the need to reflect what is happening in the streets of Barcelona and make it accessible to the public. Its motto is “Make artists happy again,” as its main driving force is to provide artists with the tools they need to continue creating and expanding their work.

Urban Flowers belongs to the logo-art school. The artist created this icon with the romantic idea of growing an urban flower garden in concrete that smiles at passersby. With a background in architecture and design, he has a clean line and vivid imagination. His artistic career in Barcelona began in 2022, and he already has murals and shutters for various brands and public institutions, as well as solo and group exhibitions.

Felipe Pincel (Chile, 1985) addresses themes linked to the Mapuche people as a response to cultural and racial discrimination. His work carries a strong political discourse referring to Latin America. Although much of his career was spent as a tattoo artist, eight years ago he ventured into painting. This mural is dedicated to women of all races who have been victims of domestic violence.

Mysterious red inscriptions survive on some walls of old Barcelona. They consist of an anagram containing the word “Victor” along with a surname. These graffiti became popular among university students from the Renaissance onward as a way to honor classmates who graduated with high grades. They can be found in many cities; in Barcelona, five well-preserved examples remain.

Sixe Paredes began his artistic career in graffiti and evolved from lettering to abstract geometric art. This piece belongs to his series Natura viva, in which elements of nature—mountains, seas, skies—intertwine in vibrant, high-energy abstract landscape compositions.

Escola Aldana, which recently transitioned into public education, accompanied its transformation with an artistic and participatory project led by muralist Alessia Innocenti. Over a couple of weeks, more than 200 students, their families, and educational staff were involved in different stages of the artistic process: selecting the artist, designing the sketch, and executing the mural. The project helped renew the school’s identity.

He began painting in the streets of El Raval in the early 2010s, gaining recognition for his energetic linework. His work blends social critique with animal symbolism—especially the roar of the lion, which inspired his name. He has participated in several urban art festivals in Catalonia and across Europe and now combines street interventions with exhibitions in alternative galleries. With this piece, he sought to represent the multicultural essence of El Raval through a composition of traditional kitchen tools from different cultures, mixed with psychedelic patterns—from South America to Asia, passing through Catalonia.

Morcky, artistic name of Marco Galmacci, is an Italian urban artist based in Barcelona whose work combines graffiti, illustration, and animation. His style relies on expressive, dynamic lines that merge architecture, portraiture, and lettering in emotional compositions. With a background in mathematics, he brings structural and rhythmic qualities to his pieces. After a key period in Amsterdam, his language evolved toward a more intimate and narrative approach. His work seeks to connect with audiences through spontaneity and imperfection as creative strength.

Urban artist Aryz intervened on the main façade of Sala Apolo with a monumental mural representing the Greek god Apollo—symbol of music, creativity, and the arts—in a contemporary and defiant version: arms crossed, confident gaze, and vivid colors emphasizing the importance of culture in Barcelona. The work, created as part of the exhibition project “Art Meets Apolo,” will be displayed on Avinguda Paral·lel for at least one year. It acts as a visual statement linking Apollo’s mythical legacy with the city’s artistic and musical pulse.
