Fàbrica de Creació Fabra i Coats

By @hanneolsen

In Sant Andreu you step into a former textile factory that now lives as a home for artists and makers. Red brick buildings, a tall chimney and wide courtyards set the scene. Inside you find studios, rehearsal rooms and the Fabra i Coats Centre d’Art Contemporani with changing exhibitions. It is a living place where work is created and then shown.

Address: Carrer de Sant Adrià, 20, Sant Andreu, 08030 Barcelona, Spain

  • Why go

Industrial heritage and contemporary art in the same space. Fewer tourists and a clear view of Barcelona’s creative life.

  • Vibe

Spacious and local. Brick, light and quiet during the week. Warm and busy on event days.

  • Tips

Check the calendar before you come. Plan for exhibitions, open studios, concerts or family activities. Start at the art center, then walk the courtyards and peek into the rehearsal spaces when they are open. Combine the visit with the nearby Can Fabra library and a stroll through Sant Andreu. Weekends are livelier.
