Endō Sushi Central Market Branch
By @tabimawari
A small, historic restaurant located next to Osaka’s central fish market, founded in 1907 and operating for over 115 years. The space is intimate, with just a few tables and a counter, and offers outstanding value for high-quality sushi. The recommended “Maze” sets—five assorted seasonal nigiri chosen by the chef—cost around ¥1,000. The fish is ultra-fresh, and each nigiri is carefully brushed with soy sauce in the traditional Japanese style. The decor is simple, traditional, and unpretentious. Entrance fee: – Maze set (5 seasonal nigiri): ~¥1,000 – Other sushi sets: ~¥1,000–¥1,600 – Miso soup (separate): ~¥300 Touristy? Very popular with locals from early morning (6 AM–2 PM, closed Sundays and public holidays), but also attracts tourists and food lovers. Expect a line on weekend mornings. The vibe is relaxed yet authentic.
