Iceland - Hvolsvöllur

Seljalandsfoss

By @thebritishexplorer

A stunning 60 metre waterfall that drops over a former sea cliff. The unique part is the path that lets you walk behind the curtain of water for a sheltered view inside the falls. At sunset the light through the water is spectacular. 🌊🌅

Address: Seljalandsfoss, 861, Iceland

  • Why go

It is a rare walk behind a major waterfall with brilliant views from inside the cave like path.

  • Vibe

    Immersive. Dramatic.

  • Tips

I recommend waterproof gear and shoes with excellent grip. The path is rocky and very slippery, and in winter it can close due to falling ice.
