Iceland - Skógar

Skógafoss

By @thebritishexplorer

One of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls. A 60 metre drop and 25 metre width. On sunny days the spray often throws single or double rainbows. Local lore says a Viking settler hid a chest of gold behind the curtain of water. 🌈

Address: Skógafoss, 861, Iceland

  • Why go

To feel the sheer power up close. You can walk right to the base or climb 527 steps to a viewpoint and the start of a legendary trail.

  • Vibe

    Epic. Photographic. Mythic.

  • Tips

I recommend going early or late to avoid crowds. Bring a waterproof if you get close as the spray is intense.
